Tinker Bell Through the Years

Young and old, far and wide, Walt Disney's Tinker Bell is a well-loved favorite. As adults we hold her close to our hearts and smile as our children discover Peter Pan and Tinker Bell for the very first time. But do you know much about her history? This lens is filled with all sorts of interesting information and even YouTube videos of Tink's early TV appearances in commercials!

Tinker Bell is a fictional character from British playwright Sir James M. Barrie's original play "Peter Pan" where she was portrayed as a flying light beaming from offstage.

Animator Marc Davis gave life to the light by drawing Tink as a mischievious pixie complete with womanly curves and a seductive pout to match.

Live action model Margaret Kerry helped breath full life into Marc's sketches and made Tinker Bell real.

And for the record, no, Tinker Bell was not modeled after Marilyn Monroe. That's just an urban legend. Read about it on Snopes.

Tinker Bell is misspelled quite often as just one word "Tinkerbell" but in the film, Captain Hook refers to her as "Miss Bell" therefore suggesting that her name is two words, a first and last name.

I always found it a bit ironic that a Disney character described as "a jealous woman with seductive curves" would end up becoming the role model and hero for young girls all over the world. But at the same time I think of it as an answer for a strong feminine character.

Lirik Proud Of You Fiona Fung

Love in your eyes
Sitting silent by my side
Going on Holding hand
Walking through the nights
Hold me up Hold me tight
Lift me up to touch the sky
Teaching me to love with heart
Helping me open my mind
I can fly
I\'m proud that I can fly
To give the best of mine
Till the end of the time
Believe me I can fly
I\'m proud that I can fly
To give the best of mine
The heaven in the sky
Stars in the sky
Wishing once upon a time
Give me love Make me smile
Till the end of life
Hold me up Hold me tight
Lift me up to touch the sky
Teaching me to love with heart
Helping me open my mind
I can fly
I\'m proud that I can fly
To give the best of mine
Till the end of the time
Believe me I can fly
I\'m proud that I can fly
To give the best of mine
The heaven in the sky
Can\'t you believe that you light up my way
No matter how that ease my path
I\'ll never lose my faith
See me fly
I\'m proud to fly up high
Show you the best of mine
Till the end of the time
Believe me I can fly
I\'m singing in the sky
Show you the best of mine
The heaven in the sky
Nothing can stop me
Spread my wings so wide
